Transition to Kindergarten (TK) is a preschool program offered by local school districts using state early learning funding. These programs take place in elementary school buildings and follow the regular school schedule for daily attendance but may start later in the school year.

In order to participate in TK, students must turn four years old before August 31st of the year (or January following) that they plan to enroll in TK. TK programs may begin at any point prior to January 31st. The Commission encourages TK programs to begin between November 1st and the January 31st deadline.
